Pool Rules

 

 1. All Pebble Creek Farm Amenities, including the Pool, Pavilion, Tennis Courts and associated recreation areas are for the use of PCF Residents who are current in their Annual Dues to the Homeowners association and have no outstanding fines.

2. An adult must accompany children five years old and younger to the restroom.

4. This is a swim at your own risk facility. An adult is anyone 18 years old or older for purposes of these rules, unless otherwise specified.

5. If no lifeguard is on duty, no one under 18 years old is permitted within the pool enclosure without direct adult supervision.

6. An adult must accompany children under 10 years old.

7. Any swimmer 10-18 years old who desires to be able to swim without direct adult supervision, but WITH a lifeguard on duty, must pass the swim test. This test consists of swimming two long lengths of the pool (2 laps) and treading water in the deep water portion of the pool for one minute. Any lifeguard on duty can administer this test at his or her discretion, safety permitting. The lifeguard’s decision regarding pass/fail is final. A parent or guardian must be present during the test. If the child does not pass the swim test, he/she may be retested at any later date. A complete retest must be completed.

8. A current emergency card will be maintained on file in lifeguard room for all children who have passed the swim test. It is the Parent or Guardian’s responsibility to ensure this information is current & accurate. This information will include a phone number that the Parent or Guardian can be reached at all times should an emergency occur.

9. Smoking is prohibited within the Pool enclosure and playground. A designated smoking area is located within the Pavilion. This area may be used when no organized activity is happening within the Pavilion.

10. No glass bottles, containers or other items that are capable of shattering and producing sharp objects are allowed within the Pool enclosure.

11. No food, beverages or smokeless tobacco is permitted within the pool.

12. This is a NO DIVING pool.

13. Inappropriate public behavior including profanity, intoxication, vulgar remarks or bullying will not be tolerated and may result in loss of pool privileges at the discretion of the HOA Board of Directors and/or Positively Pools. Underage alcohol use or contributing to alcohol use by a minor will result in permanent loss of pool privileges for the season and referral to appropriate law enforcement agencies for investigation. This is a family oriented recreation area and appropriate behavior is expected.

14. Pool behavior and courtesy should always be observed. The lifeguard has the authority to enforce PCF and Positively Pools rules & safety policies governing pool behavior. Examples of inappropriate pool behavior include: diving head first into the pool, sitting, hanging or diving/jumping off the lifeguard chair, running, shoving, or dunking or aggressive horseplay within the pool.

15. No chewing gum while in the pool enclosure or during pool use is permitted.

16. No spitting or spouting of water.

17. No bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards or scooters are permitted within the pool enclosure.

18. The lifeguard has the authority to enforce PCF & Positively Pools rules & policy with the following corrective actions:

  • First offense = reprimand.
  • Second offense = 5 to 30 minutes ejection, depending on severity and at the discretion of the lifeguard on duty.
  • Third offense = ejection from the pool enclosure for one complete day of pool operation. The lifeguard will contact the board member on call. If a board member is not immediately available, the lifeguard’s decision is to be honored.

19. The Lifeguard’s primary role is to provide swimmer safety. NO requests are to be made asking the lifeguards to act as babysitters for any length of time. Parents or responsible caretakers as previously noted are directly responsible for the supervision of their children at the pool, playground, and lake areas.

20. The lifeguard has a minimum ten minute break during peak pool use periods. During this break, the lifeguard is not on duty. Neither the lifeguard, Positively Pools or the PCFHOA shall be responsible for the pool use during the lifeguard’s breaks. These breaks constitute an “ADULT SWIM ONLY” period and will be announced by the lifeguard at the beginning and end of the break during lifeguard management hours. All swimmers under 18 years old must be completely out of the pool.

21. Many floatation devices for small children are NOT considered lifesaving devices. Children wearing these devices must have strict qualified adult supervision by either a parent or qualified adult caretaker whenever the child is within the pool enclosure or in the water.

22. Floatation devices such as rafts, blow up toys, etc. may be used as long as they do not intrude on pool use by other swimmers. They may be no larger than a one man raft. They MUST be removed from the water by the person using the device when not in use. A small child could be hidden from the lifeguards or caretakers view if the device is left unattended in the water.

23. Emergency equipment is for LIFEGUARD USE ONLY. First Aid supplies may be used by qualified or authorized persons.

24. No regular diapers are allowed in the pool. Swim diapers or swim pants are mandatory, covered by plastic pants. If any soiling of the water is noted by the caretaker, report this to the lifeguard immediately. In the event of contamination from any source, immediately notify the Board member responsible for the pool operations or any other board member listed on the PCF website in their absence.

25. No pets, with the exception of certified service dogs, are permitted within the pool enclosure.

26. Cut offs or shorts with loose strings are not allowed in the pool. Swimwear conforming to the appropriate is required.

27. Persons with open sores or rashes are not allowed in the swimming pool.

28. No hard balls (tennis balls, footballs, racquet balls) in the pool area. Other balls designed specifically for pool use may be used AT THE LIFEGUARD’S discretion if deemed appropriate & the activity does not interfere with other swimmers pool use.

29. Private functions with swimming guests of ten or more constitutes a party. A registration form is required to be on file with the recreation/pool committee. See the PCF Website for details. In addition, an extra lifeguard must be employed at the resident’s expense. The lifeguard’s services are provided through Positively Pools on contract as the PCF pool management company.

30. No one is allowed in the pump room or lifeguard room other than contracted pool management company staff and those authorized by the Pool Committee Chairperson.

31. The Pavilion restrooms are labeled for male or female use only. Parents or adult caretakers must accompany children 5 years old and younger.

32. Playground use is for children 11 years old and younger. No glass, alcoholic beverages or any tobacco products are permitted in the mulched playground area.

33. Magnetic reader proximity cards are issued to each homeowner. These are the device of choice for access to the pool. Those residents in good standing should refrain from opening the pool gate unless they are highly familiar with the person requesting access. The numeric key pad is only to be used by the Pool contractor & staff, or persons authorized by the PCF Board of Directors. If you lose your proximity card, contact the Pool Committee Chair listed on the PCF Website. There is a $75.00 fee to replace and reprogram lost cards.

These rules will be enforced. The lifeguard on duty has the authority to enforce these rules or correct any behavior that he or she feels constitutes a threat to safety and good order of our community and guests at the Pool. The lifeguard should never be challenged or harassed in any manner while on duty. His or her decision is final if a PCF Board Director is not available. If a matter arises where there is disagreement, contact the appropriate board member noted on the PCF website.

Prox Card Guidelines

Distribution

Two (2) proximity cards will be issued to resident homeowners in good standing as well as to lessee/tenants in good standing. Cards will not be issued to non-resident homeowners without Board approval. Once issued, the members will retain the issued cards for annual use so long as they remain residents. New members will be notified in advance of times they will be able to pick up the cards. A resident adult will be responsible for picking up and signing for the cards. Identification is required.

Operation

Proximity cards are to be used by residents, or an immediate family member, to obtain access to the pool and restrooms ONLY during regular pool hours. Pool hours (10:00 AM – 10:00 PM) are posted on the gate and published in the pool rules. Children under 18 years of age may use the cards only when a lifeguard is on duty and after having successfully passed the required swim test.

To enter the pool, present the card with the small blue square lettered HID to the reader. A series of beeps will be heard and the gate will unlock. The red exit button inside the fence is used to open the gate when leaving.

Under no circumstances are residents permitted to hand out their issued cards to anyone other than their immediate family members. Violations may cause revocation of the cards and loss of the right of enjoyment of the facility.

It is the responsibility of any resident and lessee/tenant to return their cards to the card manager prior to moving out of the neighborhood.

Activation/Deactivation

Proximity card activation will be only for the current swim season. Any residents that have been previously issued proximity cards and are no longer in good standing, will have their cards deactivated. Deactivation will last until the member becomes current with any outstanding community dues and or fees and/or resolves any other issue that has taken them out of good standing. Once cards have been deactivated, the resident will be charged a reactivation fee of $25.00 per card.

Replacement

It is the responsibility of any resident having been issued proximity cards to immediately report a lost or stolen card to the Pool Committee Chairperson. A new replacement card can be obtained from the card manager for a fee of $75.00, which covers the cost of the card and the service charges to activate the new card and deactivate the lost card from the system. Failure to report a lost or stolen card will result in a fine of $75.00.
